ATM Skimming - Member Awareness

On two recent occasions, small skimming devices (approximately 1.5 inches wide, 3.5 inches long) were discovered attached to the faces of ATMs in the Chicago area. These were prominently attached near a note instructing cardholders to swipe cards through the additional reader “for security purposes” before performing a transaction. In the past few years, ATM skimmers have become increasingly more difficult to detect, virtually unnoticeable by cardholders performing legitimate transactions. Though no instances of this problem have been reported in the Central Ohio area, Telhio would like to alert you of this scam and make you aware that this does exist. Telhio does not use any extra devices, such as the one described, on any of our ATM machines. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, do not use that machine and contact Telhio immediately.
