Facing Your Student Loan Balances

graduation caps thrown in air

Congratulations to all of the college students who graduated in the face a global pandemic! You all deserve a big round of applause for overcoming the challenges presented to you over the last several months of completing your degree. As you've begun new careers and settled into a new chapter of life, one thing remains the same - student loan debt. Luckily, borrowers do not have to start paying on their student loans until October 1, 2021, thanks to the CARES Act that was passed by Congress in March 2020. This extension is great news for those who may have been struggling with the thought of making their first payment. During this time of loan relief, we encourage you to keep working toward your saving goals, but don't let October creep up on you without a plan in place.

One of the biggest tips we can recommend to post-graduates who are swimming in student loan debt is to talk with a student loan counselor. Student loan counselors are experts in this area and can help you find a plan the fits your unique circumstances. This not only saves you time, but it will make you feel more in control of your situation.
