Beware of Phone ScamsRecently we have received reports of members receiving calls and being asked to verify "suspicious activity" on their debit or credit card. If you receive a similar call or text message, please do not give out any personal information and notify us immediately. As a reminder, Telhio will never contact you and ask you to verify personal information such as your PIN number over the phone.Some warning signs of phony fraud alerts:You receive an email, phone call, or text message from somebody saying they are from your credit union, asking you about recent activity on your account.You are asked to confirm your debit card, account number, PIN number, and/or passwords.The scammer claims that there has been fraudulent activity found on your bank account, or that your card has been cancelled. Ways to protect yourself and account:Never click on any link or attachment in a suspicious text message or emailNever provide personal information, debit card, PIN number, or login information. We will NOT call you and request this information.Do not reply to any unsolicited emails or text messagesWhen in doubt, simply hang up and call Telhio at 614-221-3233 to ensure the call is a legitimate inquiry from the credit union you know and trust.
