August is here and that means summer is nearing its end. Good news is you have just enough time to squeeze in a last minute Ohio vacation that is both fun and affordable! Here are some ideas for last minute trips across the state:

1. Central Ohio. From the Columbus Zoo to Zombeezi Bay, to the Metro Parks and sports games, Central Ohio is a great spot for a last minute trip. Both the Columbus Zoo and Zoombezi Bay offer daily admission tickets that give you the chance to experience it all! Columbus is also home to the Columbus Crew MLS team and Minor League Baseball team the Columbus Clippers. Both teams play during the summer and early fall, so you definitely have a chance to catch a game!

2. Southwestern Ohio. Southwestern Ohio is home to the great city of Cincinnati that boasts tons of fun for last minute trips. Head to Great American Ballpark for a Cincinnati Reds game or unleash your inner child at Kings Island or Great Wolf Lodge water park. The Newport area is also a great place to visit with its adventurous aquarium, movie theater, shops, and concert venue.

3. Northern Ohio. If you're looking for a quick getaway that won't break the bank, then we definitely recommend traveling to northern Ohio. For all you thrill seekers, Cedar Point is a great place to get your fill of fun. Make sure you also check out a Cleveland Indians game and visit the Lake Erie Lighthouses. If you're looking for some fun in the sun, northern Ohio is home to some wonderful beaches and quaint villages such as Put-In-Bay, Kelleys Island, and Port Clinton. These lakeside beaches are the perfect getaways that are both local (to Ohio) and affordable.
