Telhio Awards Scholarships To Local Students

Telhio recently announced that three local students were awarded scholarships for the 2016-2017 school year. The credit union awarded one top scholarship for $1,000 and two additional scholarships valued at $500 each.

The goal of the scholarship program is to celebrate and support those students who exhibit the credit union philosophy of "People Helping People" in their daily lives. Students were asked to submit an essay on the importance of supporting the community and how they've helped to make it a better place.

Chardae Reeves, a local student from Licking Heights High School, was awarded the top $1,000 scholarship. Chardae attended The Ohio State University as a freshman and is currently studying Psychology at Hampton University. She plans to open a private practice specializing in psychological testing and long-term therapy after graduation.

The $500 scholarships were awarded to Caroline Rice, a graduate of Hilliard Darby High School, and Elisabeth Friend a graduate of London High School. Caroline currently attends The Ohio State University where she is studying Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field. Elisabeth attends Capital University and is pursuing a degree in Accounting with the goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant.

Congratulations Chardae, Caroline, and Elisabeth!
